Canna butter is the most important part of cooking with cannabis. Almost all of the following recipes include it in some degree, along with cannabis oil. Therefore, it is highly recommended to try these two first!
How to make Canna Butter?
1/4 ounce (about 7 grams) cannabis buds of your choice, finely ground
1/2 cup (one stick) salted or unsalted butter (based on your personal preferences)
Add the butter to a saucepan and melt it on low heat.
After the butter has melt, add the ground buds little by little and continue to simmer on a low heat for 45mins. Don’t stop stirring while you are at it! If you start noticing little bubbles forming on the surface of the butter, then you are doing it right!
After you are done simmering, strain the product into a sealable container. Be sure to squeeze against the blob that stays in the strainer in order to get the most out of it.
That’s it! You can start cooking with your cannabutter immediately or store it in the refrigerator. Since the butter absorbs the cannabis, larger doses will yield more cannabutter. 2 cups of butter can last your for up to an ounce (28 grams) of ground bud.
