How To Be Creative With Weed This Holiday Season

Posted 7 years ago by Sera

The holiday season is well and truly upon us now, and for so many, this is hardly a time to celebrate. It’s a time full of obligations, anxieties and last minute Christmas shopping. Yikes! Consider yourself to be one of those holiday haters that everybody hates for hating the holidays? Never mind! We have a herbal remedy for that condition. Adding Mary Jane to the menu during the holiday season is a way to be creative. It’s a way to make what would otherwise be very stressful a lot of fun and kind of funny!

There’s no harm in making the holiday season a little bit merrier with weed. We really believe in that. Whether it’s something new to bake, a stoner gift idea or some strain recommendations, we have you covered!

Strains to take the edge off this holiday season

Let’s be honest! It’s not always fun getting ready for the Christmas and the new year celebrations. It always feels like there’s too much to do and not enough time. We have some strain recommendations to take the edge off – because when you’re feeling good, you’re performing at your best!

Cannatonic

If you find you’ve been racing around a lot this holiday season, perhaps a heavy THC strain isn’t the answer. Cannatonic is a high CBD strain of marijuana that is recommended for those who get anxieties. It doesn’t have that powerful cerebral effect, meaning it should calm your mind down rather than get it racing about all the things you have to do. It does have a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD, so you can get a little bit blazed and super chilled out.

Jack Herer

While I usually wouldn’t recommend a Sativa strain to calm the nerves, this one does the job really well. It’s euphoric high creeps up on you just when it needs to, and doesn’t have a super psychedelic effect. It is rather calming and euphoric. This might be the perfect one to smoke on Christmas day after all the chores are done with.

Northern Lights

This high THC, heavy indica strain is popular among stoners for its sedative effects. This strain is definitely one to wind you down after a stressful day of running errands. This is the kind of strain you can smoke if you are struggling to get to sleep because your mind is keeping you awake.

With a THC level of 18%, it’s a strong indica which should leave you feeling totally relaxed. And you can nail the next day after a solid night’s sleep!

Bake a festive cannabis-pecan pie

Don’t know what to serve up to your friends this Christmas? Well, if you want to make things really interesting… Why not get creative in the kitchen with weed? Now, we should probably add a disclaimer here. Before you go dosing up your dinner guests, make sure they know that they are about to consume some cannabis edibles. That is, of course, if you want to keep your friends after Christmas!

For this recipe, you’re going to need to have made some cannabutter ahead of time. To learn how to make the perfect cannabutter, check out our article! It’s important to have the cannabutter ready ahead of time, then you can throw it straight into this cannabis-pecan pie recipe! This recipe should make 8-10 people very, very happy.

Ingredients for the pie:

  • A deep dish pie shell
  • 1 cup of pureed pumpkin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar

Ingredients for the pecan topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups half pecans
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of melted cannabutter
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

The recipe:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • In a mixing bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, sugar, egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Pour this mixture into the unbaked pie shell and make sure it’s evenly spread along the surface. Jiggle it around to remove any air bubbles.
  • Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake it for 20 minutes.
  • While it’s in the oven, you can prepare the canna-pecan topping. In another mixing bowl mix the melted cannabutter, pecans, brown sugar and vanilla extract.
  • Remove the pumpkin pie from the oven, add the pecan topping and use a spatula to even out the surface.
  • Put it back in the oven for another 30 minutes or until ready.

Your guests will love you for it, and it should make everybody laugh a little bit harder this Christmas!

Get your friends the perfect stoner gift

Don’t go wasting money on gifts that your friends are never going to use. If you want to give the gift that really says “I care”, then add some paraphernalia to their stoner survival kit. If you know that your friends love to smoke the herb, they’ll love you even more for these gift ideas.

A joint rolling machine

Everybody has at least one friend who is terrible at rolling joints. Buy them a joint rolling machine for Christmas, and if you’re feeling really generous, throw some ground up weed inside.

Life is like a box of …. weed!

Feeling extra generous and creative? Wrap up some different buds in chocolate wrappings and throw them in a chocolate box. It will look boring from the outside, but it will really feel like Christmas when they start unwrapping!

A new bong

You must really love this person to go out and buy them a new bong. Or perhaps you were the one that broke their bong last Christmas. You can even make them a bong if you find the time! It’s the perfect gift for any stoner!
