3 Cannabis-Infused Juices You Must Try

Posted 6 years ago by Ian Shutts

If you think that heating cannabis is the only way you can get its full therapeutic benefits, think again. Cannabis is a leafy plant. Like vegetables that contain essential nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants, you can also eat or juice raw cannabis.

Although heating cannabis is one of the best ways to activate the cannabinoids, sometimes you lose essential nutrients this way. You also lose some beneficial enzymes as well. When you juice cannabis though, not only do you get a nutrient-dense drink, but you also get to avoid some of the psychoactive effects associated with cannabis use.

If you want to try juiced cannabis, then here are two cannabis-infused juices that you can try at home. They’re refreshing and can easily quench your thirst, and they’re also relatively easy to do.

For these recipes, you will need a blender and a strainer.

Minty Green Apple and Cucumber Cannabis Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized cucumber.
  • 1 green apple.
  • 15 raw and fresh cannabis leaves.
  • 2 raw cannabis buds, large.
  • 15 mint sprigs.
  • Organic honey.
  • 1 cup water.
  • Ice.

Directions:

  • Place cucumber, apple, cannabis leaves, and mint leaves in the blender and add water.
  • Blend well until the mixture is smooth.
  • Using a strainer, strain the mixture into your bowl. To get the remaining juice, squeeze the pulp against the sides of the strainer with a clean spoon.
  • Transfer juice to a glass jar.
  • Add honey to taste.
  • Add ice for a refreshing drink.

Carrot and Cannabis Juice

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups diced carrots.
  • 15 raw and fresh cannabis leaves.
  • 2 raw cannabis buds, large.
  • 1 lemon.
  • Organic honey.
  • 1 cup water.
  • Ice.

Directions:

  • Place carrots, cannabis leaves, lemon juice, and water in the blender.
  • Blend well.
  • Place your strainer over a bowl and pour the mixture, pressing the pulp against the sides of the strainer to get the remaining juice.
  • Pour the juice into a clean, glass jar.
  • Add honey to taste.
  • Add ice.

Fruity Cannabis Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup each of your favorite fruits, sliced. Some of the best fruit combinations are strawberries and watermelon; cucumber and pear; mango, orange, and pineapple; as well as banana and strawberries.
  • 15 raw and fresh cannabis leaves.
  • 2 raw cannabis buds, large.
  • Organic honey.
  • Juice of one lemon.
  • 1cup water.
  • Ice.

Directions:

  • Combine all the ingredients in the blender and blend well.
  • Add honey to taste.
  • Add ice and serve.

This juice is more like a smoothie though. So if you don’t want a pulpy cannabis drink, you can also use a strainer to remove the pulp.

You can go ahead and make more cannabis juice, of course, instead of just making one glass. You only need to adjust the ingredients accordingly. When storing cannabis juice, make sure that your container is sealed tightly and it can be stored for up to three days in your refrigerator.

We know that the heating process changes the cannabinoids into its more potent form, one that our body can readily use. Since there’s no heat involved in juicing cannabis, don’t expect the cannabinoids to be just as potent as ingesting cannabis oil or edibles, for example, or vaping or smoking cannabis. There is also a reduced risk of feeling any psychoactive effects when you drink cannabis juice.

Of note, don’t expect any immediate results when you drink cannabis juice. It can take anywhere from three days to even a few weeks before you feel its effects. Not only does the cannabis juice have to pass through your stomach and liver, but it will also take some time for your body’s cells to absorb the cannabinoids.

Benefits of Juiced Cannabis

Drinking cannabis juice daily can help relieve symptoms of your chronic medical condition. For example, it’s perfect for those who have arthritis since the cannabinoids can control both inflammation and pain. You can also drink it to help control your high blood sugar. Cannabinoids are known to have anti-diabetic properties.

Daily intake of cannabis juice can also benefit healthy individuals, of course. The antioxidants found in cannabis can protect your cells from the effects of free radicals, a high level of which is harmful to your health. It can also boost your immune system and help improve the way it functions.

Things to Remember When Juicing Cannabis

You want the cannabis leaves fresh, so don’t use dried leaves. Dried cannabis leaves have been processed for smoking and aren’t suitable for juicing.

Getting fresh cannabis leaves may be difficult, so only get them from a trusted provider. Make sure that the provider isn’t using any pesticides or other harmful chemicals on their cannabis crops.
